Cherry Blossoms of Same Class
The following story is on display at Hotaru Museum in
Chiran Town, Kagoshima Prefecture. Tome in the story refers to Tome Torihama,
who operated Tomiya Restaurant in Chiran during WWII.
Sergeant Tanaka, who was in the same class with Sergeant
Shimohira, was always good friends with him. The two of them always visited
Tomiya Restaurant together.
They stopped by Chiran and met with Tome when they were taking their planes
to the south. When they visited Chiran again, they came as members of a special
attack squadron. That time also they took off together.
